What is an XML sitemap and why is it useful?
A sitemap is an XML file that lists the all URLs on your site, it allows webmasters to get information such as: when your site was last updated, how often it changes. This allows search engines to crawl the site more intelligently.
Please keep in mind that a sitemap doesn’t help in increasing search engine rankings, but it is rather important for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) purpose.
Sitemaps are more useful for new websites and blogs. As they don’t get many back links to their posts, making harder for search
engines to discover all of their posts and pages. Sitemaps allow your blog/site to interact with search engines more effectively improving the visibility of your blog/site to search engines.
